Zoometrics, our story
From field experience to digital innovation
Zoometrics was born from years of work in animal welfare and community-based management of urban biodiversity.
What began as local initiatives to organize volunteer efforts and respond to concrete challenges (feral cat colonies, green spaces, urban wildlife) evolved into a broader vision: creating a technological platform that brings together science, community, and government.
Today, we are a digital suite that turns data into evidence, and evidence into action, in service of more sustainable and resilient cities.

Barrantes
Founder & COO
Specialized in smart cities project management and international relations.
She has extensive experience in the public sector, where she has designed and implemented digital transformation policies applied to public health, volunteer management, and animal welfare at the municipal level. She brings strategic, institutional, and social impact vision.
Juan Manuel Taboada Álvarez
Founder & CEO
Biologist and forest engineer, full stack developer.
Expert in animal and human population censuses, and in the development of software applied to natural resource management. He has worked on international projects related to biodiversity and environmental markets such as carbon credits. He leads the strategy and growth of the Zoometrics ecosystem.
Damián Rinconada
Co-Founder & CTO
Software architect specialized in backend development with more than 10 years of experience.
He has led the creation and scaling of robust digital solutions across different sectors. At Zoometrics, he ensures the platform’s stability, interoperability, and technical evolution.
